Erasmus+: Call for Project Proposals for 2026 and New Programme Guide Published!

The European Commission has published the call for project proposals for 2026 under the Erasmus+ Programme. The first application deadlines are scheduled for February 2026, while the 2026 programme guide is already available online.
Funding for 2026
Austria will receive approximately €86.2 million in funding through the Erasmus+ programme. Across Europe, more than €5 billion has been allocated for Erasmus+ in the coming year.
New Features in the Programme
To further support partnerships and mobility in the school sector, a new activity will be launched in 2026 within Erasmus+: the “European School Development Partnership.”
This initiative primarily targets national and regional education authorities. The new partnerships aim to identify and share best practices in key areas such as:
Promoting the professional development of teachers
Increasing the attractiveness of the teaching profession
Improving the overall quality of teaching and education
Projects will also test and integrate innovative teaching and learning methods and curricula, particularly in areas such as:
Basic skills
Language learning
European values
Civic education
Knowledge about the European Union
Project proposals for this new activity can be submitted for the first time on 9 April 2026.
A Programme for Everyone
A major focus of the programme remains inclusion, particularly the participation of people with fewer opportunities, as well as continued support for individuals from Ukraine.
